How ReconBot Monitors the Competition
Market intelligence that tracks competitor listings, price changes, and demand trends.
ReconBot is your personal market intelligence agent. Once activated on an item, it continuously monitors other sellers' listings across marketplaces to give you a competitive edge. Here is how to set it up and what it tells you.
What ReconBot Monitors:
- Similar items listed on other platforms (eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc.)
- Price changes on competing listings
- How long competing items have been listed
- New listings that match your item category
- Market trends and demand patterns
How to Activate ReconBot:
- Go to any item page and scroll down to the ReconBot panel.
- Click "Activate Recon Bot." The bot begins scanning marketplaces immediately.
- Within moments, you will see competitor listings appear in the panel. Each listing shows the platform, price, listing age, and a comparison to your price.
- ReconBot generates alerts when something important happens — a competitor drops their price, a similar item sells quickly (indicating high demand), or a new competitor appears.
The ReconBot Panel: On your item page, the ReconBot panel shows two main sections:
Competitor Listings: A list of similar items currently for sale elsewhere. Each entry shows the platform icon, price, and how it compares to your listing. If competitors are priced lower, you may want to adjust. If they are priced higher, you might be leaving money on the table.
Alerts: Actionable notifications like "Competitor on eBay dropped price by 15%," "Similar item sold in 2 days at your price range," or "Demand trending up for this category in your area." Each alert can be acknowledged or acted upon.
Dashboard Alerts: ReconBot alerts also appear in the Alerts Widget on your main Dashboard, so you can see market activity without visiting each item page individually.
Pause and Resume: If you do not want to monitor an item temporarily (maybe you are taking a break from selling), click "Pause" on the ReconBot panel. Click "Resume" when you are ready to start monitoring again.
Tip: ReconBot is most valuable for items that have been listed for more than a week without selling. The competitive intelligence helps you understand why and what to change.
