How CollectiblesBot Grades and Prices Collectibles

Collectible grading for cards, coins, stamps, and memorabilia with PSA/BGS reference standards.

Last updated: 2026-03-30

CollectiblesBot specializes in grading and pricing items that the collector market values differently based on condition — trading cards, coins, stamps, sports memorabilia, comic books, and similar items. Here is how it helps you get top dollar for your collection.

What CollectiblesBot Evaluates: When CollectiblesBot detects a collectible item, it performs a detailed condition assessment based on industry-standard grading scales:

Trading Cards: Uses PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) and BGS (Beckett Grading Services) standards. CollectiblesBot examines centering, corners, edges, and surface condition to estimate a grade from 1 to 10.

Coins: References the Sheldon scale (1-70) used by PCGS and NGC. Evaluates wear, luster, strike quality, and surface marks.

Stamps: Assesses centering, gum condition, perforations, and cancellation marks using standard philatelic grading.

Sports Memorabilia: Evaluates authenticity indicators, condition, and provenance details.

How Grading Affects Price: In the collectibles world, condition is everything. A baseball card graded PSA 9 might sell for $200, while the same card at PSA 7 sells for $40. CollectiblesBot helps you understand where your item falls on the scale and how that translates to market value.

How to Use CollectiblesBot:

  1. Upload the clearest photos possible. For cards, photograph both front and back in even lighting without glare. For coins, try to show both obverse and reverse.
  1. In the description, include any information you have — year, manufacturer, player or design name, and whether the item has been previously graded.
  1. Run the AI analysis. CollectiblesBot activates automatically when it detects a collectible.
  1. Review the estimated grade and pricing on the item page. The report shows the estimated grade, comparable sales at that grade level, and what the item might sell for at higher and lower grades.

Should You Get Professional Grading? CollectiblesBot will recommend professional grading when the value difference between grades is significant enough to justify the cost ($20-50 per item from PSA or BGS). If a professional grade could move your item from a $50 sale to a $200 sale, it is worth the investment.

Tip: Never clean coins or trim cards to improve condition — in the collecting world, this actually decreases value. Sell items in their current, unaltered state.
