How CarBot Evaluates Vehicles
Vehicle evaluation using NHTSA safety data, VIN decoding, and market pricing for cars, trucks, and more.
CarBot is LegacyLoop's specialist for vehicles — cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, and recreational vehicles. It goes beyond standard photo analysis by pulling official data from government and industry databases. Here is how it works.
What CarBot Analyzes: Upload photos of your vehicle and CarBot identifies the make, model, year, and trim level. If you provide the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), CarBot decodes it to get exact specifications including engine type, transmission, factory options, and original MSRP.
NHTSA Safety Data: CarBot pulls safety recall information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database. If there are any open recalls on the vehicle, CarBot flags them. This is important because unresolved recalls can affect the sale price and the buyer will want to know.
Market Pricing: CarBot estimates the vehicle's value using the same approach as PriceBot but with vehicle-specific data sources. It considers mileage, condition, location, and current market demand for that specific make and model. You get a price range for private party sale, dealer trade-in, and retail value.
How to Use CarBot:
- Create a new item and upload clear photos of the vehicle — exterior (all four sides), interior, dashboard with mileage showing, engine bay, and any damage or modifications.
- In the description, include the year, make, model, mileage, and VIN if you have it. The VIN is usually on the driver's side dashboard or inside the driver's door jamb.
- Click "Analyze with AI." CarBot activates automatically when it detects a vehicle.
- Review the results on the item page. You will see the vehicle identification, decoded VIN data, safety recalls, condition assessment, and pricing estimates.
CarBot Availability: CarBot is available on Pro plans and can be accessed with credits on other plans.
Tip: Including the VIN dramatically improves CarBot's accuracy. A VIN decode gives exact factory specifications, which helps the pricing engine find precise comparable sales instead of relying on general model data.
