Using the Message Center for Buyer Communications

How to manage buyer conversations, use quick replies, and stay organized in the Message Center.

The Message Center is where all your buyer conversations live. It is a two-column inbox with your conversation list on the left and the active thread on the right. Here is how to use it effectively.

Accessing the Message Center: Click "Messages" in the navigation bar or go to /messages directly. A badge on the Messages link shows how many unread conversations you have.

The Inbox Layout:

Left Column: Your conversation list, sorted by most recent activity. Each conversation shows the buyer's name, the item they are asking about, a preview of the last message, and the timestamp. Unread conversations are highlighted.

Right Column: Click any conversation to see the full message thread. All messages between you and the buyer are shown in chronological order with timestamps.

Sending Messages:

  1. Click on a conversation to open it.
  2. Type your message in the text field at the bottom.
  3. Click "Send" or press Enter.

Quick Replies: LegacyLoop provides pre-written quick reply templates for common situations. Click the "Quick Replies" button to see options like:

  • "Thanks for your interest! The item is still available."
  • "I can do [price] — does that work for you?"
  • "Happy to send more photos. What angles would you like?"
  • "The item has been sold, but I have similar items available."

Click any template to insert it, then customize before sending.

Managing Conversations:

Mark as Read/Unread: Click the dot next to any conversation to toggle read status. Use this to mark conversations you need to come back to as unread so they stay highlighted.

Buyer Information: At the top of each thread, you can see which item the buyer is asking about (with a link to the item page) and how the buyer found you (which platform or direct storefront visit).

Notifications: You receive a notification (via the bell icon) whenever a new message arrives. Make sure notifications are enabled in your settings so you do not miss buyer inquiries.

Tip: Respond to messages within a few hours whenever possible. Fast response times dramatically increase your chance of making a sale. Buyers often message multiple sellers, and the first to respond usually wins.
